PAULA HUNKER

Paula Hunker, Senior Advisor and Member of the Board of Directors, currently serves as Senior Vice President at the Asia Society, a New York-based non-profit founded by John D. Rockefeller that works to navigate shared futures for Asia and the world. She previously served as Director of Strategy and Policy for the Hunger Solutions Institute at Auburn University, where she built a unique consortium of 100 university presidents from across the United States and around the world to end hunger on their campuses, advance food security in their communities and advocate for change in state legislatures and on Capitol Hill. Prior to joining Auburn, Paula was Chief of Executive Affairs at the United Nations World Food Programme and Director of Policy and Communications at the Rodale Institute, America’s oldest sustainable agriculture research organization. She is a graduate of Guelph University and the Cambridge Public-Private Partnership Facilitator program.

CHRIS MOORE
Chris Moore, Principal, works with associations and non-profits to create effective strategies and campaigns that achieve legislative, regulatory and funding objectives. Chris has led national and global issue advocacy campaigns for broad-based coalitions and leading industry associations, including at National Association of Manufacturers. Prior to entering the private sector, he was director of strategic planning at the United Nations World Food Programme. He previously served as an international trade negotiator in the U.S. government, holding key positions at the State Department and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Chris is a graduate of Emory University and the London School of Economics. In his spare time, he volunteers for various LGBTQ and other causes, including serving as a board member of non-profit HelpAge USA. Chris is a member of Q Street and the Government Relations Leadership Forum.

PAUL MOORE
Paul Moore, Principal, brings extensive management, strategic planning, government contracting and business development experience to help non-profits and other organizations achieve their growth objectives. Prior to joining Ceartas Advisors, Paul was Senior Vice President at Nathan Associates, where he led the company’s $35 million international development practice. In that capacity, he managed over 100 home office and overseas staff and the implementation of numerous multiyear economic growth programs under contract with the U.S. Agency for International Development and other donors. Paul previously served in the Office of the United States Trade Representative and at the Commerce Department. He is an outdoor enthusiast and environmentalist who loves to bike, hike and ski. Paul graduated from Wake Forest and The George Washington University. He speaks Spanish.

TOM BOURNE
Tom Bourne, Associate, is an experienced environmental campaigner, researcher and non-profit manager. He previously served as a community organizer for the Azulita Project, an innovative non-profit acting to eliminate plastic waste along the southwest border. He has worked for the Museum of Northern Arizona, the Climate Reality Project, and in the office of Arizona Congressman Tom O’Halleran. Tom earned his undergraduate degree at Hampden-Sydney College and a Master’s in history with a focus on environmental history from Northern Arizona University. Outside of work, he is a rugby referee and aspiring cook, bartender and baker. He loves to travel and is always looking for a great deal on where to go next.
